Unfortunately, we’ve now had to cancel this event.

We are very excited to be able to invite you to our next Pluralogue CPD event, Weaving our community together through the use of psychodrama techniques.

With: Relational Spaces’ John Wenger

Date: Sunday 24 June 2018

Venue: Central London, TBC

About the topic

The purpose of this pluralogue is to deepen the relationships we have amongst our Relational Spaces network through psychodramatic techniques.

One of the central concepts to arise out of the psychodrama tradition is sociometry: that the quality of shared or collaborative work is directly related to the quality of the relationships between those collaborating.

This experiential pluralogue will facilitate us to get to know one another better so that we may feel a greater sense of belonging, support and shared endeavour. Through this experience, it is hoped that you will also learn some easy-to-use techniques that complement other types of therapy and which can be applied with clients who may feel a little daunted or stuck with traditional ‘talking therapies’.

You will also experience a number of groupwork techniques, which help to grow relationships between people and can be applied easily in most group situations.

For those who have never encountered psychodrama, it is an action methodology pioneered by Dr Jakob L Moreno in the early part of the 20th century. It encompasses a range of techniques that aim to facilitate deep insight and healing, and which enhances relationships with self and others. As the name suggests, it is a dramatic method and is applied in a range of contexts, from individual or group therapy, organisational and professional development or educational settings.

About John Wenger

John is a BACP-registered psychotherapist working in Waterloo. He also provides coaching and training in the commercial sector in the areas of leader development and effective team functioning.

He began his psychodrama training in New Zealand in 1998.

He has used the method in a range of contexts:

  • in a community-based therapy centre treating sexual offending behaviours
  • with company executives
  • with leaders in local government organisations
  • with adolescents developing life skills
  • with youth and social workers

He currently applies the method in private practice with individuals and couples, as well as in his organisational work.

About the Pluralogue

For those new to this event, the Pluralogue is a space where we get together to both learn and socialise, meet some new colleagues and find out what others are up to, as well as enjoy some food and drink whilst digesting new ideas.

The term ‘Pluralogue’ was coined by Doron many years ago, to depict moving beyond monologue to dialogue: to pluralogue (the conversation of many). We hope to learn together and from each other in the form of a learning community in a friendly atmosphere with the added fun of dining together.

The added bonus is that we structure it as a CPD event so you will be able to count it as CPD hours (a CPD certificate will be provided as well).
