Public event

Pre-pandemic, this session on ‘Improv’ proved to be one of our most in-demand and successful events. So, join us for some seriously fun and profoundly silly experiences, in our second post-pandemic revival of this ever-popular workshop.

Previous participants have said it had been a long time since they’d laughed so much, and the experience had freed them up to respond more imaginatively with their clients – “A rare and wonderful experience.”

With: Darren Cheek

Date: Sunday 15 September 2024

Time: 2pm–5pm

Venue:  Langdale House, 11 Marshalsea Road, London SE1 1EN (2 min walk from Borough Station)

About the topic

‘Improv’ is performing without preparation. It means responding not just to what’s happening in the immediate environment, but also to our feelings. We’re all improvisers – we have to improvise every day.

Yet all too often we don’t improvise. We remain stuck, missing our own and each other’s cues, cries, gestures, gifts, laughter, demands, gratitudes and holding. We stay in denial, avoid grief and loss, miss out on joy.

This session is practical and experiential, in a safe, supportive, fun and creative environment. It’s equally suitable for those new to improv and those more experienced. And with a plethora of new games and exercises to help us free ourselves up, those who have attended these sessions before will find themselves equally at home in all the new silliness!
