Public event

Join us for dinner as Relational Spaces’ Darren Cheek directs and leads the cast in this unique theatre event at the beautiful White Horse Hotel in Dorking: a dramatic reading of Tony Earnshaw’s new novel, Blessed Assurance.

Blessed Assurance tracks the lives, beliefs and relationships of childhood friends Tom and Pete, who become very different Anglican priests, and of Anne and Liza, the sisters they marry.

Exploring marital stresses and expectations, the place of faith in an increasingly rootless world to the fate of independent investment firms in the city, we follow the story of Tom’s development from teenage Christian radical to liberal theologian; from love-struck student to maturity; and his search for a meaningful faith in the 21st century.

The cast includes Darren Cheek, Debbie Christie and William Elliot – as well as playwright and performer Maria McAteer-Dahlberg.
