Public event

With: Graham Mummery

Date: Saturday 8 May 2021

Time: 10am to 12.30pm

Venue: Online, using Zoom video conferencing

About the event

The American Jungian writer, James Hillman talks about the “poetic basis of mind”. In this workshop we will tap into this.

The workshop is for all levels of writing experience, from beginner to advanced. Using word and imagination exercises, we will play with words and create short pieces which can be shaped into poetry. There will be opportunities to do some writing in the time and share in a friendly and creative group atmosphere. Examples will be used from published work to provide models for creating new work.

All you need to bring – as well as yourself and writing materials – is an object to write about. This may be anything from a holiday photograph to a family heirloom or even an everyday object like a spoon. This will be used to stimulate your imagination.

You should end the session having created something from your imagination.

About the Pluralogue

For those new to this event, the Pluralogue is a space where we get together to both learn and socialise, meet some new colleagues and find out what others are up to.

We came up with the term ‘Pluralogue’ many years ago to depict moving beyond monologue to dialogue: to ‘pluralogue’ (the conversation of many). We hope to learn together and from each other in the form of a learning community in a friendly atmosphere.

The added bonus is that we structure it as a CPD event so you will be able to count it as CPD hours (a CPD certificate will be provided as well).
